Mersey Ferries, Liverpool

Ferries have featured on the River Mersey for over 800 years. By the time Liverpool had been officially declared a town in 1207 ‘ferries’ were already an established sight.

Today’s now world-famous ferry service is run by the Mersey Ferries team.

As well as taking hundreds of thousands of people out on the Mersey each year Mersey Ferries also operate a range of exciting and informative Liverpool attractions along the riverside as well as trips along the magnificent Manchester Ship Canal.

Mersey Ferries are owned and operated by Merseytravel, the Executive body that provides professional, strategic and operational transport advice to the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to enable it to make informed decisions.

It is also the delivery arm, making transport happen.

After the county’s free attractions, Mersey Ferries are Merseyside’s most visited tourist attraction and their entire team are committed to offering high-quality Liverpool days out for all.
