Nestling on the bank of the River Trent and in the shadow of the City Ground, this rowing club became a live music venue in 1962 originally to fund its water sports activities and soon saw bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Elton John and the Sex Pistols take to its stage. In more recent years the club hosted John Peel for a week during the BBC Radio ‘One Live’ event in Nottingham.
