This old Victorian pub was an early venue for Blur and still hosts bands every night. Internationally famous music venue and pub offering cheap drinks, dancing and live music from up-and-coming bands. Legendary on the indie scene, the Dublin Castle, thanks to some good work by their promoters, has seen many a fine band grace the cramped backroom stage on their way to the top. Madness started out there, Blur played a secret gig there at the height of the Brit-pop era, and it's played host to groups including Cast, Travis and Gay Dad along the way. With gigs seven nights a week, some turn out brilliantly, whilst others are truly dreadful. Sometimes it's not so easy to seperate the wheat from the chaff. Inside it looks like a skanky working men's club - but for some this adds to it's charm. Open till two o'clock on weekends. loud and grubby, this is a place for people who like their gigs. info@rainbowtravelonline.com |
